Deferring a University Offer in Regional Victoria: John Polesel : May 2009 Interim Report

Paper released in May 2008 from the University of Melbourne Centre for Post-compulsory Education and Lifelong Learning. This paper outlines the targeted initiatives used by 25 Victorian Government schools who have high retention rates of students through to year 12 completion to achieve those high retention rates.

This paper completed in 2010 being a Master of Education thesis covers an investigation of Student Perceptions and Outcomes of Vocational Education and Training in Schools. A large Victorian regional senior secondary college was the setting for the study. The project gathered data from three sources: a survey of students enrolled in a VETiS subject, the student enrolment data base for all students enrolled in either a VETiS or non VETiS course; and individual interviews of a small focus group of VETiS students.
