WORK PLACEMENTS
Secondary students are looking for a wide range of opportunities to experience the world of work before they decide on a career pathway. We offer an array of tailored work placement options that benefit both students and businesses alike, including Work Experience, School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships and Structured Workplace Learning.
PASSIONS & PATHWAYS
P&P provides students in their last years of primary school with exposure to the world of work through a range of innovative experiences with local businesses. The program develops student self-knowledge, confidence and aspirations for future pathways. P&P is the only evidence based, best practice, curriculum aligned, primary school careers learning program in Victoria.
YOUNG INDUSTRY AMBASSADORS
Aged between 18-30, YIAs represent their employer and industry and are trained to present their own career pathways to students in upper primary and secondary schools. The diverse routes young employees have taken, and the opportunities within their industry can enlighten studentsβ knowledge about various career pathways and the value of school completion.
YOUTH TAKE OVER
Youth Take Over aims to address the problems young people in the Loddon Campaspe region face entering the labour market after leaving school. The evidence-based initiative gives young unemployed people the opportunity to enter our growing industries through innovative experiences developing skills, experience and industry networks.
BENDIGO TECH SCHOOL
Bendigo Tech School is a cutting-edge facility for all Bendigo secondary students featuring innovative, curriculum-aligned learning experiences exploring authentic real-world problems. Through collaboration with industry and community, their programs deliver advanced STEAM knowledge and skills that students require in the rapidly changing global economy.
BENDIGO INNOVATION FESTIVAL
The Bendigo Innovation Festival (BIF) celebrates and promotes local innovation, helps create the environment for great ideas to flourish and fosters world-class innovation thought leaders to Bendigo. Currently on hiatus due to the impact of COVID, the BIF community are planning a return of the event in the near future.
ON TRACK CONNECT
On Track surveys provide a picture of what happens to young people after they leave school, assisting the Victorian Government to improve services. The Goldfields LLEN provides follow up through the On Track Referral Program, supporting young people in our region with proactive advice and guidance with post-school education, training and employment pathways.
PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY
Principal for a Day sees local business and community leaders βshadowβ a school principal, participating in day-to-day activities. This experience strengthens relationships and has provided a wealth of new partnership opportunities. Since 2016, Goldfields LLEN has played a lead role matching over 40 school hosts with local business and industry leaders.
